Today a two-day seminar "Musical Theater for children and Teenagers" was finished in St. Petersburg. The seminar was organized within the frame of the18th Russia-wide Festival of theatrical art for children "Harlequin". The rich seminar’s program and presentations of speakers about the up-to-date topics attracted participants from different parts of Russia.
The Institute for Cultural Programs has been held educational seminars for professionals in the field of theatrical activities since 2018 in partnership with the organizers of the Harlequin Festival.
These seminars are not only the professional meeting, but a platform for expert dialogue, exchange of experience, gaining new knowledge and joint search for non-standard creative solutions to the problems facing the managers of modern theaters.
This year for the first time the seminar became international thanks to the partnership with the “Contents for Cross-Cultural Events - C3E” project. The C3E project is implemented by the Institute for Cultural Programs within the CBC 2014-2020 South -East Finland- Russia. In addition to the most interesting Russian speakers representing theatrical organizations of St. Petersburg, Moscow, Yekaterinburg and Novouralsk, the seminar was attended by:
- Teemu Laasanen, pianist, general director and artistic director of the MusicFairyTales project, manager of the Mikkeli Music Festival (Mikkeli);
- Jaakko Kemppainen, artist, game designer, representative of the Finnish art development center Taike (Kouvola);
- Tiina Ikkonen designer, producer, University of Applied Sciences of South-East Finland (Kouvola);
- Katri Lätt, producer of the Black and White Theater (Imatra).
Topics of the seminar:
- digital technologies for theatrical activities
- gamification in children's theater projects
- attracting young audiences to the art of opera
- creative approaches of the theater to with children and teenagers
- contemporary dance for children's theatrical performances.
The speakers’ presentations aroused great interest of the seminar participants. The successful experience of colleagues in the implementation of fresh ideas in the field of musical theater art for a young audience inspired the audience to create new theater projects.
The participants expressed their hope for the continuation of professional meetings within the framework of educational seminars of the Russian-wide Festival "Harlequin".
