The ICP in partnership with the Mariinsky Theater organized and implemented new stage of the “Multidimensionality of Culture” project.
The “Multidimensionality of Culture” is a project implemented by the Institute for Cultural Programs with the support of the Committee for Culture, the Committee for Social Policy, and the Committee for Youth Policy of St. Petersburg.
This time, to the participants of the project a fascinating tour of the theatre, a lecture in Stravinsky's foyer about the history of the one-act ballets Carmen Suite and Marguerite and Armand, as well as a tour of an exhibition of theatrical costumes were offered.
The participants of the “Multidimensionality of Culture” project were impressed by the story about the acoustic features of the New Stage Hall of the Mariinsky Theatre, its technical capabilities and unique design. Young people with disabilities, volunteers and project curators were amazed by the fact that 4.000 square meters of warm honey-colored onyx was required to create the interior decoration of the Mariinsky-2 complex.
An equally striking part of the event was a presentation about the history of the ballet productions Carmen Suite and Marguerite and Armand created for Margot Fonteyn and Rudolf Nureyev.
At the end of the educational program, the participants of the “Multidimensionality of Culture” project were invited to watch the ballet Marguerite and Armand.
